Ryedale Special Families Christmas raffle to raises funds

Ryedale Special Families’ (RSF) Christmas fundraising draw gives the lucky winner a meal for two every month in 2026 in 12 of the region’s most popular eateries – valued at more than £1,000

Second prize is a week’s stay for six in a holiday cottage at stunning Chesil Beach in Dorset, an area of great geological and wildlife interest, and third prize is a three-night stay for four in a holiday cottage in Pickering.

Completing the line-up of top-quality prizes is six bottles of fine red wine, Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2017, and a hamper from The Old Weigh eco-friendly food and household goods shop in Pickering, valued at £125.

The Christmas Raffle will raise much-needed funds to help put the finishing touches on RSF’ new building in Pickering which now serves as the charity’s base.

The charity, founded more than 25 years ago, provides a lifeline of support to over 420 Ryedale families with children or young people who have disabilities, additional needs or illness, by providing flexible social care, specialist education, and a wide range of social and family activities.

Formerly based in a small semi-detached house in Old Malton, the new premises, which were officially opened last month, enables the charity to offer a more extensive range of services on site in a spacious, purpose-built, fully accessible environment.

CEO Lisa Keenan said: “Our Christmas Raffle offers a fantastic selection of prizes and for just £5 a ticket, the chance to enjoy a year of culinary adventures sampling 12 of the locality’s finest gastro pubs is an incredible opportunity! It would make the most wonderful Christmas gift that keeps on giving.”

“All of us at Ryedale Special Families, both our staff and the families we support, are hugely grateful to all our donors to this amazing raffle, which will enable us to take the charity into a new era as we complete our fantastic new home.”
