Sara Cox on her memories ahead of ‘The Marvellous Miniature Workshop’
The heart-warming show, which brings cherished places to life in miniature form, airs on BBC One this Monday at 2pm.
Sara, fresh from her epic Children in Need challenge, appeared on The One Show this evening to speak about the programme and the stunning models recreated on the show.
The series can be best described as a tiny take on the Repair Shop.

It sees people arriving at the workshop with stories of a key moment or place they would like to see recreated, and expert craftspeople making their wish a reality with an incredibly detailed model.

In the first episode, retired social worker Leah reveals how she met her late husband at Manchester’s Crumpsall Library as a teenager. The building is now derelict, but miniaturist Hannah brings it back to life with an intricate model, including parquet floors, stained-glass and even Neil’s school cap.
She said: ” It is all about miniaturist who recreates incredible buildings, but not just any buildings, but where something really important happened.. a simple moment which changed their life or could be decades living somewhere, or visiting somewhere – a library, community centre a mine
“So it is a special show, and the stories are gorgeous.”
When asked what places she would like recreated in miniature form, Sara said: ” Maybe my dad’s whitewashed farmhouse where I grew up on the farm or maybe, I worked behind the bar, at my mum’s pub The Pineapple in Bolton
