Saudi Pro League chief CONFIRMS plan to sign Mo Salah as Liverpool row rages on following ‘thrown under the bus’ swipe
MO SALAH is a January target for Saudi clubs – the league’s chief executive Omar Mugharbel has confirmed.
Liverpool star Salah was left at home for Tuesday’s 1-0 Champions League win at Inter Milan after his criticism of boss Arne Slot and the club.

Salah, 33, said he felt “thrown under the bus” for the Reds’ poor form after he was an unused sub in the 3-3 draw at Leeds and that his relationship with Slot had broken down.
Amid Saudi interest, the Egyptian signed an extension last term until 2027.
But Mugharbel, speaking at the World Football Summit in Riyadh, said: “Salah is welcome in the Saudi League but it is the clubs that are responsible for negotiating with players. For sure Salah is one of them [a target].”
Reds manager Slot did not back down on his Salah stance after the win in Milan, having previously stated he did not know if the attacker would play for the club again.
With the January window weeks away, Salah is off to the Africa Cup of Nations following Saturday’s Prem clash at home to Brighton.
It is unknown if he will play in that game after posting gym pictures alone when his team-mates travelled to Italy this week.

A reported £150million bid from Al-Ittihad was rejected by Liverpool in September 2023 – and SunSport revealed on Monday how Al-Hilal were exploring a deal.
But Mugharbel’s comments are the first time a Saudi Pro League official has spoken publicly about the player.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot has admitted that he doesn’t know if Salah has a future at the club.
He has also revealed the conversations that he had with Salah prior to the forward’s explosive interview that has rocked the Anfield giants.
