The singer played to thousands of people at the South Inch park on Monday as he performed tracks from his latest album.
There was an exciting buzz in Perth’s South Inch this week when Scots singer Nathan Evans performed a surprise pop-up concert in the park.
Evans, who hails from Airdrie, attracted thousands of people to the city park on Monday afternoon as the rising singer-songwriter sang hits from the upcoming collaborative album with The Saint Phnx Band, titled Angels’ Share.
The album includes fan favourites such as newly released ‘Happy Place’, ‘Milarrochy Bay’— which was previously on the BBC Radio 2 playlist for several weeks with support from Scott Mills, Jeremy Vine, Trevor Nelson, Sara Cox and more – ‘Arabella’, ‘Cotton Eye Joe’ and ‘The Wedding’.
To celebrate the album’s release, the band have been hitting the road on a surprise acoustic tour across Scotland, kicking off with a flash-mob-style pop-up performance in Glasgow city centre before heading to Dunfermline, Perth, Ayr and Hamilton throughout the week.
His stop on in Perth created a huge buzz in the city, with the city performance posted on social media showing huge crowds singing along at the park’s skating area.
Nathan Evans, who began as a postal worker, shot to fame in 2020, with his performances of sea shanties on TikTok propelling him to stardom after the clips went viral and earned himself a number one single.
His love of Scotland is present in his songs – including Perthshire’s own Aberfeldy in hit song ‘Heather on the Hill’.
Saint PHNX, the brother duo Stevie and Al Jukes, were carving their own path at the same time. Raised on the same working-class grit, they rejected easy industry formulas to build something louder, bolder, and fiercely independent.
After being dropped by a major label, they rebuilt from the ground up – writing, producing, and performing on their own terms.
The band had a career-defining year in 2025 – with their sold-out show at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, the announcement of their album, and over the holidays performing on the BBC’s legendary Hogmanay on New Year’s Eve — available to watch back on BBC iPlayer here.
Nathan Evans and The Saint PHNX is gearing up for an exciting year ahead – The Angels’ Share World Tour kicks off on February 18 in Los Angeles and will travel across the UK, Europe, North America, and Australia, giving fans the chance to see the band perform their biggest songs live. Their most recent UK and European tour sold over 25,000 tickets, with the shows being celebrated for their energy, musicianship and connection with fans.
The band is also set to headline and curate Heather On The Hill Festival, a family-focused event taking place on Saturday, August 22 at the Royal Highland Centre as part of Edinburgh Summer Sessions.
