A 48-year-old woman died at the scene of the crash near Cluny on Friday night, with a 64-year-old man passing away in hospital today.
A second person has died after a horror two-vehicle crash in Fife. The incident happened around 11.10pm on Friday, December 19, on the B981 between Cluny and the roundabout at Chapel junction.
It involved a black Nissan Qashqai and a white Volkswagen Polo. Emergency services attended and the driver of the Polo, a 48-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The three passengers within the Polo were taken to hospital for treatment. Tragically, one of them, a 64-year-old man, passed away in hospital this morning, Sunday, December 21.
Another of the passengers remains in hospital. The driver of the Qashqai, a 33-year-old woman, was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence.
She was also taken to hospital for treatment but has since been discharged. The road was closed to allow enquiries to be carried out and was reopened around 6.30am on Saturday.
Sergeant Louise Birrell said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman and man who died.
“Enquiries into the crash are ongoing, and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and witnessed anything around the time to contact officers.
“I’d also ask that those with private CCTV or dash-cam footage which may assist to please review this to see if it has captured anything of significance.”
