The fire spread from a shed to garages
Firefighters were called to a shed fire that spread to gas mains in the early hours of Sunday morning (January 4). Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue crews were called to a shed fire in Commons Drive, Yaxley at around 1.13am.
Firefighters found the fire had spread to garages, and as a result, it affected mains gas and electric supplies. The cause of the fire was accidental.
A fire spokesperson said: “At 1.13am on Sunday, crews from Yaxley, Stanground and Dogsthorpe were called to a shed fire on Commons Drive in Peterborough. Crews arrived to find a fire involving a shed that had spread to a garage.
“Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used hose reels to extinguish the fire before returning to their stations by 6am. The cause of the fire was accidental.”
