One woman has been praised for stepping up to help an ‘unwanted dog’ who was likely dumped on the street by her previous owner because of mounting medical costs

An adorable pooch has been given a second chance at life thanks to a kindhearted stranger. A woman in her 20s shared how she came across a Pitbull cowering in the street – and believes the poor dog could have been out there without food and water for hours.

Rather than just driving on, she parked up to rescue the dog – not knowing how this simple action would change her life forever. In a TikTok video, she said: “One day while you’re in your 20s you might find a sick dog dumped on the side of the road… It is very important that you take her home and give her the life she deserves.”

Alongside this, she shared short clips of their time together – starting off with the Pitbull shaking in the back of her car before showing her running on the beach, waiting patiently for a treat and lounging on her bed.

Commenting on her video, one user said: “You actually don’t know how much joy you bring me as a dog person, I hope your wallet is never empty, I hope you live your BEST life.”

Another user added: “You deserve everything the world has to give. I hope the universe returns your kindness in double the amount.”

A third user said: “One day, when you’re older probably, you’ll look back and wonder who saved who.”

One more user said: “I hope all of your pillows are cold on both sides and that your drink is always icy cold.”

A final user said: “You’re an amazing human being.”

In her other videos, the woman, who is known as @nele.and.nugget on TikTok, shared how the dog was “being eaten alive by fleas” when she found her.

She shared how she slowly started to earn her trust before cleaning her up and tending to her emotional and physical needs.

Now, the Pitbull, who has since been named Rogue, lives alongside her other pets.

She said: “I’m 90% sure she was dumped by her previous owners – they most likely didn’t want to deal with her health issues.

“And based on the amount of fleas she had, they weren’t even doing the bare minimum – they didn’t even bother to bathe her or put her on a flea/tick preventative.

“So sad since she’s such a good girl. I think she felt instant relief when we started bathing her since the fleas were eating her alive.

“She’s doing so much better. She’s home with us and getting the medical care she needs.”
