Strictly’s Carlos Gu sobs as he makes shock admission about not getting a celeb partner
STRICTLY Come Dancing pro Carlos Gu broke down in tears and struggled to speak as he made a frank admission on tonight’s finale.
The professional dancer made it to the final tonight alongside Lioness Karen Carney, with the pair performing their final three dances in a bid for the glitterball.
Ending the competition as the final dance, the pair performed their own choice of song – a football inspired routine to Blondie’s One Way or Another.
As the song came to an end, Carlos pulled Karen into a hug and struggled to hold back his tears as he spoke to the judges.
But once he made it to the Clauditorium, Carlos broke down as he spoke to Claudia Winkleman, who noted: “I love the fact that you say Kaz has taught you so much.”
Taking deep breaths as he wept, he admitted: “She’s changed my life. I think, I think she’s the best thing I’ve ever had in 2025.
“I came to Strictly out of competitive life. I was self-centered. I was me, me, me. I’ve been the last three years.
“No wonder I didn’t get partner last year, because I’m not grateful.”
Bursting into tears, he took a moment to gather himself before adding: “She taught me how to be a kind, humble person, and for the first time, I learned to be a team player. I’m never a team player, which I’m so sad about it.”
Claudia was quick to comfort Carlos, with other pros around him – including Johannes Radebe stood behind the pair – wiping tears from his eyes as well.
The pair were then scored a perfect 40 for their routine, which made them cry even more.
Viewers were moved by Carlos’s frank and honest admission, admitting they were brought to tears as well.
“I love that Carlos has let his soft side out every week. If Karen and Carlos win, he will drown the audience in happy tears,” wrote one fan on x.
Another noted: “Carlos really has grown on me this year, I can see what he is saying, you can tell his attitude has changed. Brave man to admit it on the telly.”
“Carlos got me crying now, to own yourself for being a bit of a nob on telly and learning to being better .. what a guy,” added a third.
