BBC star Stacey Dooley has gone viral on Instagram after sharing a video of her disco-themed Christmas tree
BBC celebrity and former Strictly Come Dancing champion, Stacey Dooley, has set tongues wagging on Instagram after sharing a video of her uniquely adorned Christmas tree. The festive display, described as ‘disco-themed’, has sparked a lively debate in the comments section.
Earlier this week, the TV presenter, journalist, and documentary filmmaker, who comes from Luton, posted a brief video showcasing her Christmas tree. It’s bedecked with glittering silver tinsel, oversized star-shaped baubles, and topped off with a disco ball, with more scattered at the base of the tree, reports the Daily Record.
In her post, she told her 1.2 million followers: “It’s giving.. Elstree. Guys, did I ever mention I did strictly 100 yrs ago? The theme was ‘camp disco’ and ofc @Marymaryflorals delivered AGAIN. Isn’t it so Angel Delight energy? Made up! Ta so much girls!”
The post quickly garnered attention, racking up 13,000 likes and counting. Many expressed their admiration for the disco-inspired Christmas tree, showering it with compliments, while others were less convinced.

However, not everyone was enamoured with the tree. One person quipped: “It’s subtle but it’s there.” Another questioned: “Is that a Christmas tree or a weapon of mass destruction?!” A third simply stated: “Errmm.”
A fourth asked: “Where’s the tree?!” Another said: “Sorry but that’s the worst Christmas tree I have ever seen.” Someone else said: “Sorry but the tree is hideous.” Another put: “What the hell is that?” One more commented: “Acquired taste.”
Stacey Dooley is renowned for her work on social issues with the BBC. She first came into the limelight in 2008 with her appearance on the show Blood, Sweat and T-shirts and has since hosted a variety of documentaries and programmes, including Glow Up and Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over. She grew up in Luton and, for a period of time, worked in Luton Airport.
In 2018, she was awarded an MBE for her contributions to broadcasting. In the same year, she also clinched victory in the sixteenth season of Strictly Come Dancing. Stacey won with and her dance partner Kevin Clifton.
Stacey has been in a committed relationship with Kevin Clifton ever since they met on the BBC show. Both have expressed that marriage isn’t a priority for them, with Dooley stating her interest lies more in starting a family. The couple share a daughter together.
