Swingers’ club opens at former pub in Kearsley
The New Gatehouse was formerly the White Horse on the corner of Bolton Road and Stoneclough Road, Kearsley.
The club was previously based on Cawdor Street in Farnworth.
A website for the ‘premier swingers club’ promises it is ‘fully inclusive’ and a place where ‘everybody is welcome regardless of age, ethnicity or sexual orientation’.
Listed on the ‘GH Events’ website is a list of daily themes and events. Weekends at the venue will host ‘Fetish Fridays’ from noon until 1am, while Saturdays are ‘party night’ from 8pm until 2am.
The site says Sundays will consist of ‘chill and swing’ from 4pm to 10pm.
The ‘GH Events’ website reads: “My advice on a first visit is to come along, take a look around, sit and chat to others, and take in the amazing, exciting atmosphere.
“Sometimes fantasy and reality are not quite what you expected. On the other hand, reality is often much better. You can have some amazing fun.”
The site states that the venue has no membership fees and a fully-licensed bar.
The White Horse closed last year and was marketed in Ocotber 2025 ‘for a variety of uses’.
At that time, estate agents, Hydes advertised the 4,897 square foot premises for letting at £2,900 per month and described the building as ‘formerly trading as The White Horse pub’.
The New Gatehouse ‘about’ section on its website, added: “On entry to the club you will be shown around and given the rules. Rules are a very important part of the club.
“You can sit, chat and listen to some fascinating stories. Our experienced staff are always happy to answer any queries.”
The ‘change of use’ of the pub building has been discussed on Facebook community pages.
One commenter said: “Ah this explains why there were loads of cars parked down Stoneclough Road when I drove home from work at 10pm on Saturday.”
Another, said: “Each to their own and all that, but it’s a hard pass from me thanks.”
The New Gatehouse has been contacted for comment.
