Tesco store stocks Easter eggs while Christmas still up

And for many, Easter seems many moons away, but not for the supermarkets, where the traditional chocolate eggs are already filling up the seasonal aisles.

Shoppers at Tesco in Bury were left surprised to see the eggs already on the shelves.

One said: “I joked before going to the supermarket if we would see chocolate eggs now the Christmas holidays were coming to an end.

“I was really surprised to see them on the shelves this early. And other shoppers were saying they could not believe Easter eggs were on the shelves.

“Every year, there are articles on how early the Easter treats appear, but the Christmas decorations are still up and not due to be taken down until Monday.”

Other people have been sharing shelves stocked with Easter eggs at other stores, including other supermarkets.

This included M&S, and it’s caused a fury online.

Some believe it is ‘commercialism overtaking Christian values’, whilst others plainly call it ‘madness’, but everyone largely agrees, it seemed way too early.
