The 18 best children’s Christmas jumpers of 2025, for everyone from toddlers to teenagers
Christmas jumpers for children are as much a part of December as advent calendars and Christmas trees. Whether you’re wrapping the kids up to visit Father Christmas, donning matching knits on Christmas Eve, or sending them to school for Christmas Jumper Day, there’s a style to suit every member of the family this year.
Personal stylist Louise Duncum, who previously designed childrenswear for brands such as Next and C&A, knows exactly why we love festive woollies. “Christmas jumpers tap into a sense of fun and nostalgia, while parents also love them for adorable festive photos. It’s one of the few fashion moments in the year that’s all about joy, family and togetherness,” she says.
What are the knitwear styles the kids are wearing in 2025? Charlotte Kewley, children’s fashion stylist and founder of The Little Stylist, has seen a rise in festive sweatshirts. Cotton hoodies are “more comfortable for children and fit with a more relaxed way of dressing.” She is certain, however, that classic Fair Isle knits, which “epitomise Christmas,” aren’t going anywhere.
Some of this year’s most popular jumpers were put to the test with the help of several discerning children; Will (12), James (9) and Arabella (almost 2). Kewley also shares her top picks of the season.

How to choose the best kids’ Christmas jumpers
There are a huge variety of Christmas jumpers on sale, including everything from novelty knits to traditional Fair Isle patterns.
Duncum explains: “The biggest Christmas jumper retailers are supermarket clothing brands, such as George at Asda, Tu at Sainsbury’s and F&F at Tesco, who deliver fun and affordable festive jumpers.”
Kewley suggests Boden, M&S, JoJo Maman Bébé on the high street, as well as more traditional heritage brands like La Coqueta, Pepa London and Petit Bateau for classic, high quality styles. For graphic prints and sweatshirts, she points to H&M, Zara, Cotton On Kids and Next.
Prices depend on the fabric composition and design. “You can pick up a simple printed jumper for around £10, while more detailed knitted styles with embellishments or intricate Fair Isle patterns tend to sit between £25 and £50,” Duncum says.
Kewley recommends looking for natural fabrics, like wool and organic cotton, for sustainability, comfort and longevity: “These do usually come at a higher price point, but the quality will be far superior to cheaper, synthetic options.”
Kewley cautions that kids’ Christmas jumper collections launch earlier each year and sell out fast. “We’re not even in December and many favourites are already nearly gone. If you haven’t bought one yet, it’s worth doing so soon,” she says.
