The best ski gloves and mitts for 2025, tried and tested on the slopes by a ski expert
Crab Grab may not be as well-known as some of the other brands featured here, but it makes a range of fantastic gloves and mitts for snowboarding. We’ve been testing them for a few seasons, and everything we’ve tested has impressed us.
They’re 100 per cent vegan, providing an excellent alternative for snowboarders and skiers that want top-quality products without the use of animal derived products.
This vegan palm material is called AX Venture, and it coats the mitt for enhanced grip. The mitts use a waterproof and breathable 15K Hipora insert to keep wet weather at bay, with a PFAS-free DWR treatment. PrimaLoft provides warmth-giving loftiness, and the Micro Fuzz and Sherpa Fleece lining add another warming touch.
On the palmer side, they add the benefit of PrimaLoft Grip-Control insulation, meaning you don’t get cold or compromise hold, which is important, especially when using a mitt, as dexterity is compromised.
The long cuff is slim enough to sit under a jacket sleeve, but long enough to wear over the top, sealing the snow out with the elasticated drawstring. They also provide adjustable leashes, so you don’t lose the mitts, if you do need to slip them off, mid-session.
We found they’re a little fiddlier than using an elasticated strap around the wrist, attached to the leash, but it’s a minor point. The Crab Grab Cinch is made for snowboarding but honestly works just as well for skiing. It has a load of warmth, is comfy and offers cracking value.
