The data released by the Office for National Statistics revealed that households in Millfield and Bourges Boulevard have an average disposable income of just under £30,900 a year. Millfield and Bourges Boulevard is known for being a busy and vibrant area of the city.

House prices in Millfield cost around an average of £140,250 with many properties being flats. This 2-bed flat on Priestgate last sold in August 2025 for £139,000.

This 1-bed flat, which can also be found on Priestgate, sold for even less in June 2025. The property cost £87,000 and is close to both Peterborough station and the shopping centre.

In terms of amenities, there are plenty found along Bourges Boulevard and Lincoln Road. For food, you have a range of choices such as Kaimas, which is a Lithuanian restaurant, A Tasca for Portuguese dishes, Lahore Tandoori Restaurant, and a few different fast food options.

Big brands and shops can be found just off Bourges Boulevard including a Home Bargains and Dunelm. The road runs through the city and can take you down to Queensgate Shopping Centre.

The area is also home to a community centre, library, and health centre alongside a few parks and green spaces. Millfield is said to be diverse and has a “strong sense of community”.

Millfield used to have its own festival that celebrated the range of cultures and communities that live in the area. The event has now evolved with activities running throughout the year like historical walking tours and film screenings.

It might be the poorest area in Cambridgeshire but Millfield and Bourges Boulevard have plenty of useful amenities and many properties for a more affordable price compared to the rest of the county. Thanks to its proximity to the city centre and train station, the area could be a good choice for those wanting to get onto the property ladder.
