The Tower AquajetPro Handy Cordless Spot Cleaner is a compact and powerful gadget
What is the Tower AquajetPro Handy Cordless Spot Cleaner?
The Tower spot cleaner is a petite cordless cleaner that, on first glance, doesn’t look as if it’ll be up to cleaning much. Its tiny size belies the fact that this is a well-designed cleaner that took the prize for Best Value in our best spot cleaners guide. Power-wise, it can’t quite compete with our Best Buy from Rug Doctor, but for everyday spillages and stains, the Tower spot cleaner is a highly useful addition to the home.
At under £100 (look out for occasional sales and discounts) the Tower AquajetPro is one of two spot cleaners that the brand offers, with the other a more traditional corded design. The AquajetPro’s strength lies in its portability and the fact that you can quickly grab it when needed. Of course, its water tanks are smaller than those found in other spot cleaners, but this isn’t a tool designed to cover whole carpets or floors – you’d be better off picking one of our best carpet cleaner or best steam cleaner recommendations respectively for those jobs.
If you’re after something to mop up a spilled glass of red wine, or a middle-of-the-night fur ball, I guarantee you’ll be pleased with the Tower spot cleaner.
JUMP TO:
To test spot cleaners, I tried out each one at my home on a rug, cushion and hard floor. I pre-prepared a variety of dried-in stains, choosing mud, red wine and yellow mustard as three of the hardest to shift. I also tested with fresh red wine, mustard and ketchup stains. I then tested the cleaners on each of our five testing metrics: design and build, performance and results, ease of set up, ease of use, and accessories and additional features.
Because spot cleaners vary so much in size and construction, I also considered what it is like to store, along with how easily it could be cleaned out to keep it in good condition.
As someone who’s been testing every type of home product and appliance for around five years, I’ve got plenty of experience judging everything from vacuum cleaners through to mattresses. The fact that my husband and I are indoor fosterers for a cat charity also gave us plenty of unexpected stains to run each cleaner through its paces.
