The Traitors viewers are speculating about another family connection after Faraaz mentioned his sister on Friday
Viewers of The Traitors are convinced they’ve spotted another family link after Faraaz dropped a “sister bombshell” on Friday (January 16). The hit series, presented by Claudia Winkleman, saw 22 fresh competitors arrive in the Scottish Highlands earlier this month, all vying to outwit, deceive and manipulate their way to a £100,000 prize.
Now, beyond the midpoint of the series, the remaining Traitors, Rachel and Stephen, are still successfully fooling their co-contestants. During last night’s episode, the duo chose not to recruit anyone new, despite Matthew’s appeals, as they feared an additional member might disrupt their strategy.
Rachel and Stephen instead identified Jessie, Faraaz and Matthew as potential targets for elimination, with Jessie ultimately failing to appear at breakfast the next day.
Upon discovering her fate, Jessie remarked: “Oh that’s it! Now, I possibly believe Stephen wasn’t a Traitor and I have totally pinned this on him. Because if he is, he would have just kept me in. I just really hope that the Faithfuls win,” reports the Daily Star.

A subsequent challenge required the Faithfuls to predict how the Traitors had answered various questions, leaving the group unsettled and increasingly distrustful of one another. In the kitchen, Faraaz later voiced his doubts about Ellie, leaving her exasperated.
Speaking in her confessional, she said: “I think there will be a little heat coming my way. Not speaking up at those early roundtables was genuinely because I found it quite hard. You’ve told me I’m not speaking enough, that’s suspicious. But the problem is, then people are like, ‘Well, now you’re speaking up more and that’s traitorous,’ and you’re like, ‘I don’t know what you want from me at this point.’”
Rachel then observed: “Everybody’s a wee bit kind of on edge, aren’t they?” before pointing out Faraaz’s composed demeanour. “You’re not,” she said to him. The 22-year-old internal auditor from Middlesbrough responded: “But I’m like that, I know it’s a game, you know what I mean.”
In his piece to camera, Faraaz added: “I think the game is getting to a lot of people. I think cracks are starting to show, there’s a lot of fatigue now but I’m not getting too wound up about things. Generally, I would say I’m quite calm but I think some people, including my sister, might say very different to be honest.”
BBC viewers were quick to notice Faraaz’s casual reference to his sister, with many speculating whether this hinted at her involvement in the programme.
“Faraaz just for no reason mentioned his sister, the pairs theory is real,” one viewer posted on X (formerly Twitter), whilst another commented: “Your sister Faraaz? What a bombshell.”
A third viewer questioned: “Faraaz sister drop?” whilst another similarly asked: “Why did Faraaz mention his sister, is she in the game?” A fifth fan echoed the sentiment, posting: “Why did Faraaz suddenly mention ‘his sister’ out of nowhere?!” with another adding: “I might be doing too much but that sister mention from Faraaz makes me wonder if his sister is another hidden castle connection?”
Three connections have already been confirmed within the castle, with Judy and Roxy revealed as mother and daughter, and Ross and Ellie disclosed to be in a relationship. Ross was also linked with Netty, despite not having seen each other for years. Some viewers suspect that additional hidden relations are yet to be uncovered, following the introduction of the family tree in the castle hallway. Could Faraaz and his sister be amongst them?
