Thefts from vehicles reported around Blackleach Country Park

They suspected thefts are believed to have happened in and around the Blackleach Country Park area in Walkden recently.

Officers have warned the public that the festive period often sees an increase in thefts and have advised people on precautions they can take.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “There has been a few thefts from motor vehicles recently reported in and around the Blackleach Country Park area in Walkden.

“Over the Christmas period we do get an increase of criminals breaking into vehicles looking for gifts.

“We are encouraging residents to report any incidents of vehicle interference and theft from motor vehicles.

“If you see a crime taking place in the moment then please call 999 and give us a description of the offenders and any vehicles they might be using.

“Neighbourhood officers will be patrolling this area over the next couple of weeks at various times of the day and night to try and catch these offenders.”
