This organic cotton weighted blanket is a soothing sofa addition
What is the Karmara Karma Switch weighted blanket?
Weighted blankets are said to have therapeutic properties for better sleep and to calm anxiety. In our roundup of the best, the Karmara Karma Switch was named our Best Buy. It came out on top thanks to its soothing, comfortable design and its ability to mould to the body to provide deep pressure stimulation (DPS,) similar to the feeling of a firm hug or being swaddled.
Amid a sea of polyester weighted blanket designs, I like that the Karma Switch is made from breathable, organic cotton. The cover is removable and washable, and its design feels evenly balanced and not too heavy – more on that below. Priced at £140, it is more expensive than your average weighted blanket, but its considerate design is worth the extra spend.

Having tested 17 weighted blankets for our full round up, I know what makes a comfortable and convenient design. I trialled various options in a range of price points and fabrics, including the Karmara Karma.
I test overall comfort at home. I rate designs on their multiple size options to suit different body weights and look for quality materials that are built to last. I’m keen to see how comfortable they feel after extended use and how easy to handle, wash and dry they are. A design that can also be easily packed away for neat storage is a must.
