Traitors fans in disbelief at ‘worst Faithful in history’ after missing huge clue
The Traitors fans were pulling out their hair on Wednesday evening, as Rachel and Stephen miraculously got away with compiling their murder shortlist in plain sight.
The Traitors had been tasked with putting a fingerprint on the faces of nine contestants they wished to murder, using a red pot of ink to mark them off on a family tree picture of everyone in the castle.
Stephen and Rachel had toed and froed over whether or not to take the risk during Saturday evening’s episode – and at one point even asked Reece if he could give them a moment alone by the picture to chat about it.
Despite being maybe the most suspicious behaviour ever, come morning, when the whole gang discovered the red-printed picture, he had completely forgotten about it.
BBC viewers at home could hardly believe the Traitors’ good luck, particularly as Reece sat at the roundtable later on complaining about his lack of concrete evidence.
Taking to X to discuss the sweet shop assistant’s fumble, Andrew quipped: ‘If Reece doesn’t bring this up, he deserves to be murdered.’
Meanwhile, Rich was dismayed, tweeting: ‘Reece might be the worst faithful in history! How has he forgotten about this?’

‘Reece witnessed first hand the most suspicious behaviour ever recorded by a Traitor at the scene of the crime, at the time the crime was committed and is still like this Christ alive,’ Bex wrote.
However, some viewers did try to mount a defence for the sweet coneisseur, with one suggesting: ‘Only thing I can think is that this was before Maz and Roxy looked at it and then Rachel marked the tree after them, just before the chime. But Reece flat out forgot and hasn’t mentioned this at all, what a fool.’
Reece’s lapse of memory came in a twisty, turny episode with one banishment and another grand reveal of the secret Traitor, who is… Fiona.
Meanwhile, psychologist Ellie revealed her secret relationship with sales executive Ross, as he became the third player to be banished from the castle.
There are currently four cast members vulnerable to the next murder – well, more like three, because Stephen is one of them outside in cages in the dead of night. So the next murder will be between Reece, Maz and Sam and it will be face-to-face.
Who do you think will be murdered next?
The Traitors continues on BBC One and iPlayer on January 8 at 8pm.
