Travel disruption expected following Daisy Hill burst pipe

The issue was first reported yesterday morning, Friday, January 16, at Daisy Hill train station on Leigh Road.

A water main was said to have burst near the railway, causing disruptions to trains and for the road to be closed off.

Today, train routes are still expected to be affected between Southport and Manchester stations, between Headbolt Lane and Blackburn and between Wigan Wallgate and Manchester Victoria/Leeds.

National Rail says: “All lines have now reopned following an earlier burst water main near the railway at Daisy Hill. Trains running between Wigan Wallgate and Salford Crescent via Daisy Hill may continue to be cancelled or delayed by up to 10 minutes.
