Two arrested after disturbance inside Darlington shop
Durham Police were called to Burnside Road at about 11.15am. Two men, one in his 30s and another in his 20s, were arrested. The man in his 30s was also taken to hospital in Darlington to be treated for his injuries, where he remains.
A Durham Police spokesperson said: “Police are appealing for information following a disturbance in Darlington.
“The incident occurred inside a premises on Burnside Road at about 11.15am yesterday (Sunday, January 25).

“A man in his 30s was arrested and taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries, where he remains prior to going to custody.
“A second man, in his 20s, was arrested in connection with the incident. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
“Officers are now keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident.”

Pictures taken last night showed a police cordon around a Londis store on Burnside Road, with police officers, PCSOs and CSI in attendance.
The cordon had been removed when The Northern Echo visited the scene this morning.
