Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the road was blocked briefly by the crash but cleared soon after.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At just before 3.30pm this afternoon (Tuesday 2 December), fire crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Marsen Road, Bolton
“Two fire engines Bolton Central and Farnworth and the Technical Response Unit from Leigh quickly attended the incident, which involved two vehicles.
“The drivers and passengers involved had all self-rescued before the arrival of the fire service. One person was assessed at the scene and then conveyed to hospital by North West Ambulance Service.
“Firefighters were in attendance for around 45 minutes.”
The cause of the crash is unclear – but concerns have been raised about roads in the borough.
Yesterday evening, two cars crashed in Westhoughton – with local councillors saying that residents have raised “serious” concerns about speeding.
