Urgent hunt for two missing teenage girls, aged 13 and 14, as cops ‘concerned for welfare’

AN URGENT search has been launched for two missing schoolgirls who are believed to be together.
Ruby-Leigh, 13, and Makayla, 14, were last seen in the Clifton area at 1.10pm on Tuesday, December 16.

The teenagers are from the East Dene area of Rotherham, are are believed to be together.
South Yorkshire Police say they are growing “increasingly concerned for the girls’ welfare”.
The force urged anyone who may have information to get in contact immediately.
Makayla is described as being around 5ft 6ins tall, with long mousey blonde hair.
At the time of her disappearance she was wearing lack leggings, a black top, and a green and black jacket with a body warmer over the top.
Ruby-Leigh stands at around 5ft 9ins and has long brown hair.
It’s believed she could be wearing dark leggings with a grey body warmer and black jacket.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “The girls are known to frequent areas across Rotherham such as the town centre, Eastwood, Clifton Park, Herringthorpe playing fields, Thrybergh Country Park and Lifton Park.
“Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for the girls’ welfare and want to speak to anyone who has seen or heard from them.
“Have you seen them? Do you know where they might be?
“If you can help, you can pass on information online or by calling 101.
“Please quote incident number 428 of 16 December 2025 when you get in touch.”
