Anthony Joshua takes on Jake Paul tonight in a controversial heavyweight bout which could bring the end of the YouTuber’s boxing career
Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul will meet in the ring tonight for one of the more bizarre boxing fights in the sport’s history.
In one corner a former heavyweight world champion, and in the other a YouTuber who has only been fighting for five years. Paul has been the picture of confidence all week but surely has little chance against the hard-hitting Olympic champion, even if he is fighting for the first time in 15 months since his brutal KO defeat by Daniel Dubois.
There is also plenty of action on the undercard with three world title fights and a clash between UFC legends Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley before the main event gets underway. We’ll bring you all the results as they happen, right here…
Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua – 3.30am
Alycia Baumgardner vs Leila Beaudoin – 2.30am
Anderson Silva vs Tyron Woodley – 1.45am
Jahmal Harvey vs Kevin Cervantes – 1am
Cherneka Johnson vs Amanda Calla – 12.15am
Caroline Dubois vs Camila Panatta – 11.30pm
Yokasta Valle bt Yadira Bustillos via MD: Yokasta Valle held on to her strawweight world title but was made to fight all the way. She was given the nod by two of the three judges with the third scoring the bout a draw. Both women had their moments over the 10 rounds but Valle was a deserved winner.
Avious Griffin bt Justin Cardona via KO: Avious Griffin bounced back from his first career defeat with a devastating first-round stoppage of Justin Cordona. His opponent could not settle in the opening round and a right hand followed by a left hook did the damage as Cardona hit the canvas and couldn’t beat the count.
Keno Marley bt Diarra Davis Jr via UD: Keno Marley, one of Jake Paul’s hottest prospects, kicked off the card and he cruised to victory, winning all four rounds on the judges’ scorecards.
