Now the film is finally out, Wicked For Good’s new addition Bethany Weaver is taking fans behind the scenes of her time on set.

In the run-up to the musical sequel’s release, it was revealed that Bethany would be playing Dorothy in the movie, with the character having a much more expanded role in the film than the stage musical, where she’s referred to off-screen but never seen.

On Monday, Bethany posted a string of pictures of herself on set with Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater and Omari Bernard, who performed the motion capture for the Cowardly Lion character.

“What an honour it has been to walk on the yellow brick road with my fellow Witch Hunters,” she wrote. “And not forgetting Oscar the dog [who portrayed Toto].”

She also shared a message for director Jon M Chu, writing: “A huge thank you to the best film maker of all time for choosing me to be your Dorothy in this wonderfully wicked universe called Oz. Thank you for contributing to starting my beginning.”

Bethany added: “This has been a life changing experience, it’s changed me in so many ways and most importantly, for good. It’s been an honour to carry the legacy of the brilliant women before me who have stepped into these shoes, and embarked on the yellow brick road. I hope I have made them proud.

Omari also posted his own behind-the-snaps, writing that it had been “so much fun getting to do all the movement for ‘The Cowardly Lion’ and reading a couple of scenes with the Queen Cynthia Erivo” “That. Was. A. MOMENT!!!” he enthused.

And, of course, the principal Wicked cast have also been posting pictures of their time on set to commemorate the film’s release:
