Woman, 87, dies after crash between car and mobility scooter

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the fatal crash occurred at 11.14am on Thursday (November 27) on Manchester Road West in Little Hulton.

Police have said that the 87-year-old woman was travelling eastbound on the pavement when her mobility scooter began to cross the road.

A Volvo was driving westbound along Manchester Road West when it crash with the woman’s mobility scooter, which led to her being taken to hospital.

However, the elderly woman suffered fatal injuries and died in hospital.

The force has made no mention of any arrests at this point.

Now, GMP is asking for anyone with information to come forward as they investigate the incident.

Police said this includes anyone who saw the car driving before the crash, witnessed the incident itself, or has dashcam footage of the incident.
