Woman arrested after dog attack on two children in Halliwell
Police said they received reports on Monday (January 5) that they had been bitten by a loose dog on Halliwell Road.
Both children were taken to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
Officers arrested a 47-year-old woman on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control causing injury earlier today (January 9).

They said the dog has been seized and taken to secure kennels to be assessed, and the woman remains in police custody for questioning.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said: “A woman has been arrested following a dog attack on Halliwell Road.
“On Monday (05/01/26), we received reports that two children had been bitten by a loose dog. They attended hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
“Today (09/01/26), officers have arrested a 47-year-old woman on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control causing injury.
“The dog has been seized and taken to secure kennels for assessment. The woman remains in police custody for questioning.”
