A post mortem investigation revealed she had suffered stab wounds to her neck and upper chest.

Alireza Askari, 41, has been charged with Ms Veisi’s murder, preventing a lawful and decent burial of a dead body and assaulting a person occasioning actual bodily harm.

Maryam Delavary, 48, of White City, London, previously denied perverting the course of justice and preventing a lawful and decent burial of a dead body.

At Newport Crown Court on Monday, Delavary pleaded guilty to doing acts tending or attempting to pervert the course of justice.

She admitted “doing a series of acts with the tendency to pervert the course of justice in that she concealed or destroyed evidence and provided false information in a police enquiry”.

The court heard this plea was acceptable to the prosecution and a charge of preventing a lawful and decent burial will “lie on file”.

Delavary was remanded in custody and will face sentencing at a later date.

Askari still faces the charges against him and a trial date has been set for April 20 next year.

Following the discovery of Ms Veisi’s body around 100 mourners gathered to remember her and pay tribute at the Norwegian church in Cardiff Bay.

The church was so full mourners were asked to move outside and give others the opportunity to come in.

One of Ms Veisi’s close friends Sara Rezaei paid a heartfelt tribute to her friend before the service. She said: “Paria wasn’t just someone in the headlines—she was a kind, caring, and vibrant soul who brought joy to everyone around her.
