Women arrested after 98-year-old has bracelet stolen in Manchester

A man has been arrested following a dog attack on a woman in Halliwell

Police have since arrested three women.

The theft took place on Dale Street on Saturday, January 10, at around 3.30pm.

Officers say the pensioner was sitting on the seat of her walking frame when she was approached by two women.

They engaged her in conversation and distracted her while removing the bracelet, which was described as a priceless family heirloom passed down from her mother.

A similar incident was reported the same day on Oxford Street, where two women reportedly tried to remove rings from another woman while the other acted as a lookout.

Police have arrested three women, aged 35, 33, and 27, on suspicion of theft.

They remain in custody for questioning.

Officers are now working to recover the stolen bracelet and have released an image to help with the search.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who recognises it, has been sold the bracelet, or otherwise offered it.
