York city centre street to close for motorists for five days

Two York streets set to close to motorists with planned roadworks

Patrick Pool, off Swinegate, will close from 12:01am Monday (January 26) to 11:59pm on Friday (January 30).

The street will be closed for motorists from its junction with Church Street and Newgate while electric works are being carried out.

An alternative route for diverted drivers will be signed during this period, City of York Council has said.

Further signs and barriers will indicate the extent of the closure, and access for residents and emergency services will be maintained.

Should the works be complete before the allotted time, the road will be re-opened for motorists, the council confirmed.
