York taxi rank serious assault – police in CCTV appeal

Officers are appealing for information following the incident in St Saviourgate at 12.15am on Sunday, November 16.

North Yorkshire Police on Friday (November 28) released an image of a man officers want to speak to in connection with the attack.

A police spokesperson said the victim, a local man in his 50s, may require surgery due to the extent of his injuries.

“We’re appealing for information to help trace the man on the CCTV image in connection with the incident,” they said.

“Also, any further witnesses including the taxi driver that was parked at the taxi rank when the incident has happened. They or other passing motorists may have relevant dashcam footage.”
