Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen calls out Instagram trolls

Taking to social media, the broadcast personality, also known as The Yorkshire Shepherdess, called out people who leave hurtful comments on her Instagram posts.

Sharing some of the comments she gets daily, Amanda left a caption on her post, which read: “Am I perfect? No, am I fake? No, am I a real person, flaws and all? Yes.

“So here are just a few images from the last few weeks. Hopefully, a few folk may feel inspired, take courage to be their own unique selves and refuse to be held back.

“The majority of people will just look at the images and scroll on, rightfully busy with their own lives.

“A very small number of people will be enraged. Enjoy. Not sorry.”

Amanda followed up the images of the hurtful comments on her posts by sharing images with her family on the farm.

Owen, who is known as the Yorkshire Shepherdess, rose to fame for starring in the Channel 5 documentary series, Our Yorkshire Farm, which followed her and her family’s life on Ravenseat Farm in Swaledale, North Yorkshire.

This then sparked a new series from the family, More4 series Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids, which was commissioned for a third and fourth series earlier this year after the success of the first two series.

The programme follows the life of Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen and her family as they renovate a centuries-old derelict farmhouse known as Anty John’s into a modern home.

The new series will show them getting to work on their huge interiors project, including the installation of plumbing and running water.

Owen, 50, who is a mother of nine, said at the time: “I am beyond delighted that we have been allowed to showcase this unique and beautiful part of our British countryside, and for people to join us on our exciting journey through the restoration of our farm next door.”
