Paul Gascoigne reveals he once got into a hilarious punch up with Mickey Mouse and his Disney pals
FOOTIE legend Paul Gascoigne once got into a hilarious punch up with Mickey Mouse and his Disney mates.
The scrap erupted during a drunken bender when he fled to Disneyland Paris after a row with club bosses at Lazio.
They wanted him to star in a charity match alongside Diego Maradona but it would have meant him missing a vital league clash with Juventus.
So in a fit of anger he flew to Paris, got drunk and ended up brawling with Mickey, Pluto and Donald Duck.
The former Tottenham and England star recounted the hilarious story at “An Evening with Gazza” at Newcastle’s 02 City Hall.
He told the 2,000-strong audience: “I played a game against Milan and I scored and got man of the match.
“We had a game the next Sunday and the manager said, ‘Gazza you’re not playing’.
“He said, ‘The president wants you to play against Diego Maradona in Seville in a friendly on Tuesday’.
“I said, ‘Am I f***. I am playing against Juventus.’
“So you know what I did? I f** off to EuroDisney on my own.
“All I can remember is I headbutted Mickey Mouse, kicked Pluto up the a***, and had a fight with Donald Duck.
“My dad said to me, ‘F*** EuroDisney? Go and play that game’.”
Gazza had a change of heart and caught a flight to Seville for the November 1992 match which ended 1-1 and was hoping for a £120,000 pay day.
He had the audience in fits of laughter as he told how he downed more drinks on the plane and said: “I got to the dressing room and the lads knew I was p*ssed. “
“I go down the tunnel and Diego Maradona is standing there.
“I said, ‘Diego f***ing hell I’m p*ssed.’ He said, ‘It’s OK Gazza, so am I.’

Paul Gascoigne
“I don’t know how but I scored a f***ing unbelievable goal.
“I did the press conference which didn’t go down too well.
“Lazio then said they weren’t giving me 120 grand, they were taking 40 grand from my wages.
“You know what I did? I f** off to the airport and went back to EuroDisney.”
Gazza, who scored six goals in 43 appearances with Lazio, made a quip that he was only drinking water before the show.
He told the audience: “By the way this is water so if you want to take a photo you’ll make f** all from the newspapers.
“And if you do, we’ll go halfers.”

Daniel Pineda retires after ‘badass fight’ with Darren Elkins at UFC Vegas 99
Daniel Pineda came up short against Darren Elkins at UFC Vegas 99, but hung up his gloves in style Saturday night.
A veteran of 43 professional bouts, Pineda entered the cage looking to snap a two-fight losing skid to Alex Caceres and Nathaniel Wood, and put on an absolute war against Darren Elkins in the main card opener at the UFC APEX.
Elkins left victorious with an unanimous 29-28 score to put his first winning streak together in over three years, 12 months after his second-round finish over TJ Brown, while Pineda drops his final three inside the octagon.
“That was my last one, man,” Pineda said after the featherweight clash. “You know, we’re some dogs in here and this is my third [loss] straight. F*ck it, dude, I’m done. I’m done guys. Thank you Elkins for this badass fight.”
Pineda retires with a record of 28-17 and three no-contests, and wins over the likes of Leonard Garcia, Johnny Bedford and Herbert Burns.

Curtis Jones gives heartwarming interview about becoming new dad after stealing show for Liverpool vs Chelsea
LIVERPOOL ace Curtis Jones went viral as he opened up about recently becoming a dad in a wholesome post-match interview after a man of the match performance against Chelsea.
Jones, 23, led the Reds to a 2-1 win over the Blues at Anfield as he won the penalty that was followed by Mohamed Salah’s opener and scored the winner after Nicolas Jackson’s equaliser.
The midfielder dedicated his first goal of the season to his newborn daughter Giselle Delilah Jones and girlfriend Saffie Khan.
The couple made headlines with the joyous announcement in May that they are expecting their first child, with Saffie giving birth last week.
The pair shared photos of them holding their baby as they beamed with joy.
The ex-England youth international spoke to Sky Sports about his incredible performance against Chelsea and hinted it was a result of some extra confidence he acquired the last few days.
Jones said: “It’s the best thing ever, I’m playing with a smile on my face. It’s a different type of joy.
“I was in the spare room [last night]! But she’s a little dream, she wants a feed and change and back asleep.
“So I wouldn’t have missed much sleep anyway. But I thought it was wise [to sleep in the spare room]. So I had some energy. Sorry dads around the world!”
Social media went wild after the Liverpool ace’s heartwarming statement with many praising his inspirational words.
One tweeted: “Loved that Curtis Jones interview.”
Another commented: “That Curtis jones interview was f*****g mega! What a boy man, been a dad for a week and scores the winning goal and MOTM, killing it.”
A third wrote: “Curtis Jones genuinely seems like a top bloke. Doesn’t interview like he’s reading from a script and seems like a lad who’s just buzzing on life. Fair play to him!
This one said: “What a brilliant interview with Curtis Jones that was.”
That one stated: “I love that Curtis Jones came on to that interview and spent a quarter of it talking about his new baby.”
And finally this post read: “Happy dad Curtis Jones put up an amazing performance and an even better post match interview.”

Liverpool 2-1 Chelsea: Arne Slot’s measured approach leads Liverpool surge to top
Liverpool seem able to exert greater control under Slot’s more studied style than on the occasions when so many victories were secured after a wild ride under Klopp.
This must never be taken as a criticism of the German, who left at the end of last season after a nine-year spell as boss, but Slot’s early statistics are hugely impressive – the home defeat by Nottingham Forest in September the one blot on his record.
This was Slot’s 10th win in 11 games, their best record in any campaign since 1990-91, when then-manager Kenny Dalglish had an identical record. During the Premier League era, only Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, who won his first 10 matches, has reached that many wins in all competitions in fewer matches than Slot.
For someone entrusted with the weighty responsibility of succeeding an Anfield icon in Klopp, Slot has carried it comfortably in his quiet, understated fashion.
Chelsea’s pass completion rate of 88.1% was the highest on record, since 2003-04, by any away team at Anfield in a Premier League game. And yet, apart from a couple of late scares, Liverpool gave off an air of control that is fast becoming a Slot hallmark.
Maresca’s side may have had the ball but Liverpool were solid, with deputy goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, in for injured Alisson, rarely troubled.
Liverpool’s passing accuracy of 85.9% this season is only slightly improved on Klopp’s final campaign (85.8%), while Slot’s side are playing fewer long balls per game, 22.6 as opposed to 25.3 last term. While some stats are similar, there is a marked difference in passes played into the box, with 39.3 per game under Klopp last season and 28.9 under Slot.
And there is also a more structured defensive look to Slot’s Liverpool, with the stats suggesting they are pressing less aggressively this season. They regained possession in their attacking third 6.1 times per game last season, while that figure is now down to 4.3 times.
Liverpool were fourth best in the league by that measure in Klopp’s farewell campaign. This season, under Slot, they are down to ninth.
