Valentina Shevchenko responds to Manon Fiorot’s UFC title callout

How Valentina Shevchenko bothered Chael Sonnen

UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko issued a retirement challenge in response to Manon Fiorot’s recent call for a title fight. She also added a snarky dig.

Friday, Fiorot (12-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) expressed her frustration with waiting for a title shot in a message to the champ Shevchenko (24-4-1 MMA, 13-3-1 UFC).

“@BulletValentina stop making people wait!” Fiorot wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Let’s do it soon enough so I can send you to retirement and move on.”

The champ didn’t take long to reply, and she stuck with the retirement theme by challenging Fiorot to put her career on the line when they meet in the octagon.

“You lose – you retire Deal?!!” Shevchenko wrote on X.

The retirement stipulation for the fight was a strong enough challenge, but Shevchenko added a snarky remark to punctuate her reply, calling Fiorot an “ill-mannered first-grader.”

Shevchenko recognizes Fiorot is likely her next challenger after defeating Alexa Grasso at UFC 306 to reclaim the women’s flyweight title. Fiorot, who is undefeated through seven UFC bouts, weighed in as the backup for that fight.

The UFC has not officially announced plans for Shevchenko or Fiorot’s next bout.

Charles Oliveira vs. Michael Chandler full fight video before UFC 309

If you want to get hyped for Charles Oliveira vs. Michael Chandler 2, look no further than their first meeting in 2021.

In May 2021, Oliveira (34-10 MMA, 22-10 UFC) and Chandler (23-8 MMA, 2-3 UFC) put on one of the best lightweight title fights in UFC history, going toe-to-toe for a little over five action-packed minutes in the main event of UFC 262. After a rocky start, Oliveira put away Chandler in the end to become the new UFC lightweight champion.

Oliveira and Chandler rematch Saturday in the co-main event of UFC 309 – which takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York. Oliveira is coming off a close, title eliminator bout loss to Arman Tsarukyan in April. Meanwhile, Chanlder looks to bounce off a submission loss to Dustin Poirier.

Check out their 2021 championship fight in the video above.

Paul vs. Tyson tickets: Find out how much it will cost you to get into the fights

Paul vs. Tyson tickets: Find out how much it will cost you to get into the fights

Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are just days away from meeting in one of the most talked-about boxing events in recent history with the fight taking place at AT&T Stadium just outside Dallas.

The cavernous stadium, which usually serves as the home to the Dallas Cowboys, typically seats around 80,000 people but with additional seats on the field level, that number could balloon up to 100,000. For the upcoming card, Paul’s company Most Valuable Promotions decided to team up with ticket brokers at SeatGeek for sales rather than going through Ticketmaster.

A quick look at the map reveals that there are still plenty of tickets available to the event with seating anywhere from down on the floor close to the ring all the way up to the rafters in the nose bleeds.

The lowest priced regular seat is currently settling for $50 in section 408, which is the top level of AT&T Stadium. Most of the lower priced seats are actually in a few different sections on one half of the stadium. There is a single handicap seat available for $38, which is technically the lowest priced ticket available right now.

Now if you move down one section lower, tickets get a little pricier but still only around $90 each, depending on the row. The prices continue to vary as you get closer and closer to the ring.

As far as floor seats, there are still a smattering of tickets available but once again prices vary depending on location. The closet seat currently available that’s not a resale ticket sits in the fourth row — currently only one actually available — and that costs $7,500.

Scoot back four rows from almost the exact same vantage point and the price drops to $2,623 for the tickets currently available.

Based on the current map, there is actually one ringside seat available from Seatgeek as a special VIP package that costs a whopping $50,000. Another VIP package seated in the second row is going for $12,500 right now.

There are other VIP floor seats going for $20,000 for some tickets with others going as low as $3,500 if you’re willing to sit in the fifth row.

Now other resale sites like Ticketmaster and Stubhub could have different options available as far as ringside or floor seats.

It also must be noted that as the event draws closer and organizers look for a sold out crowd, ticket prices could potentially change, especially with resellers looking to dump those seats rather than eating the cost of the tickets that have already been purchased.

It’s unknown at this time if MVP plans to announce the full live gate for the show.

Why Alexander Volkanovski thinks Jon Jones must fight Tom Aspinall

Why Alexander Volkanovski thinks Jon Jones must fight Tom Aspinall

Alexander Volkanovski believes fighting Tom Aspinall would add to Jon Jones’ legacy in a pivotal way.

Jones (27-1 MMA, 21-1 UFC) defends his heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic (20-4 MMA, 14-4 UFC) in Saturday’s UFC 309 (pay-per-view, ESPNews/Hulu/FX, ESPN+) main event at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Jones has dismissed interim heavyweight champion Aspinall and doesn’t think he needs to unify the titles. However, Volkanovski believes otherwise.

“If you want to be a heavyweight champion, you want to claim that crown,” Volkanovski said of Jones on his YouTube channel. “You did claim it. It was a vacant belt, and you fought Gane for it, and you got it. But it’s going to be hard to convince me you’re defending champ if you don’t fight Tom Aspinall while he’s the interim champ and the biggest threat. Does Jon Jones even need to do this? No.

“He’s already got an incredible legacy, but if you want to claim the heavyweight division and say you were a proper double champ, you’ve got to fight Tom Aspinall. If you really want that on your resume, saying that ‘I’m the best heavyweight while I was there,’ you have to fight Tom Aspinall. I think he’s definitely the biggest threat, the wrestling, he can be dangerous everywhere, and he’s a legit heavyweight.”

Instead, Jones is eyeing a fight with UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira – a fight he sees bigger for his legacy than Aspinall. Volkanovski disagrees with that part but acknowledges that Pereira is a bigger money fight.

“I know there’s talk of him maybe doing a Pereira fight,” Volkanovski continued. “He’s probably in a position where, ‘I don’t need to add to my legacy. I want bigger fights.’ Pereira is a massive name right now, so maybe that’s what he’s chasing, and he’s clever. He knows Tom Aspinall is a way bigger threat.”
