2024-25 Wooden Award odds: Cooper Flagg heavily favored in two-man race

» 2024-25 Wooden Award odds: Cooper Flagg heavily favored in two-man race

The Wooden Award is an award given annually to the most outstanding men’s college basketball player.

Zach Edey won the honor the last two seasons, but now that he has taken his talents to the NBA, who’s next?

The betting odds usually help identify the contenders.

Let’s check out the odds via DraftKings Sportsbook as of Jan. 27.

2023-24 JOHN WOODEN AWARD ODDS:

Cooper Flagg, Duke: -700 (bet $10 to win $11.43 total)
Johni Broome, Auburn: +310 (bet $10 to win $41 total)

There is some time left in the season, but Flagg all but has the award wrapped up.

The dynamic freshman had a bit of an up-and-down beginning to his college career, but over the last several weeks he’s become a college superstar.

In two Duke wins over Virginia Tech and SMU on Dec. 31 and Jan. 4, he had a combined 48 points, 14 rebounds, nine assists, three blocks and five steals.

On Jan. 11, against Notre Dame, he had 42 points, seven assists and six rebounds.

In a win over Boston College on Jan. 18, he had 28 points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks, and in a win over Wake Forest on Jan. 25, he had 24 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

You get the point.

Second on the board is Broome, whose Auburn Tigers are the No. 1 team in the country, led by the senior big man who is averaging a double-double on the season.
