Maresca must bench 3/10 Chelsea star who lost the ball 21x vs Leeds

A Chelsea forward’s representatives have made one ‘clear’ transfer demand as their client pushes to leave Stamford Bridge in January, according to reports.

Chelsea secure much-needed back-to-back wins

The Blues have now ended their four-match winless run with consecutive victories over Everton and Cardiff City, restoring some optimism at Stamford Bridge following a concerning slump.

Enzo Maresca‘s side first returned to form on Saturday with a comfortable 2-0 Premier League win against the Toffees, with Cole Palmer sweeping them ahead after just 21 minutes after Malo Gusto’s intelligent pass.

The England international’s comeback to form after spending most of this season unavailable proved timely, following a barren spell that had coincided with Chelsea dropping valuable points.

Gusto doubled the advantage before halftime, arriving with speed to convert Pedro Neto’s low cross past Jordan Pickford.

The victory lifted Chelsea back into fourth, ending a worrying spell that included defeats to Leeds and Atalanta plus goalless draws against Arsenal and Bournemouth.

Tuesday evening then brought Carabao Cup quarter-final success at Cardiff, though not without considerable drama.

Maresca fielded a completely changed lineup from the weekend, yet still required his star-studded bench — worth nearly £400 million — to rescue the tie.

Alejandro Garnacho opened the scoring after 57 minutes following Dylan Lawlor’s mistake, but League One leaders Cardiff equalized through David Turnbull’s spectacular diving header with fifteen minutes remaining.

The Welshman’s first goal in thirteen months gave the home side renewed hope as the last EFL team remaining in the competition.

However, substitute Neto restored Chelsea’s advantage eight minutes from time with a low drive before Garnacho sealed the 3-1 win with his second in stoppage time.

Chelsea have now reached three semi-finals under Maresca, and progressed from 19 consecutive EFL Cup ties against lower-league opposition.

The five-time winners now face a demanding January schedule with nine fixtures across four competitions, beginning with Man City on the 4th of next month.

Of course, not every Chelsea player will be along for the ride.

Bomb squad members Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi have been training away from the team on individualised plans, while forward Tyrique George is reportedly clamoring for the exit door as well.

This is echoed by CaughtOffside, who report that George is ‘actively pushing’ to leave Chelsea in search of more game time.

What’s more, the 19-year-old’s camp have apparently drawn a ‘clear line’ — namely that George won’t accept a loan move and wants a permanent departure.

As a result, clubs are reportedly queuing up for his signature.

Interest in George is widespread across England and Europe. Leeds United, Everton, Fulham, Southampton and Crystal Palace are all monitoring the versatile winger’s situation closely, while Fulham maintain strong admiration for George after his proposed £22 million deadline-day deal collapsed in the summer.

Abroad, RB Leipzig are attracted by his potential development within their renowned youth system, while Roma view the teenager as a long-term Serie A project. The Italian club are apparently exploring creative financial solutions to facilitate a deal.

The Cobham academy graduate has barely set a foot wrong when given the chance by Maresca, but he’s only featured in four Premier League games all season.

George now appears desperate to further his development elsewhere, and he has no shortage of options heading into the winter window.
