Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury WILL Fight in 2026
A fight many in boxing have been waiting for more than 10 years to transpire, may finally be going down in 2026.
According to Ring Magazine, which is owned by the sport’s financier Turki Alalshikh, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will headline a Riyadh Season-branded event in the coming 12 months.
Per the report, it will not go down straight away. Joshua, after all, returns to the ring on the 19th of December after more than a year on the sidelines, as he looks to rebound from a brutal knockout loss to Daniel Dubois, with a thumping win over the internet sensation Jake Paul atop a Most Valuable Promotions card being held at the Kaseya Center in Miami and airing on Netflix.
But even then it won’t happen after that fight.

A Few Things Need to Go Right For Joshua vs Fury to Really Happen
Fury, meanwhile, hasn’t won a fight since defeating Francis Ngannou in a disputed decision in 2023, because of back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024. And he’ll return to the ring first for a tune-up, rather than taking on Joshua straight away.
And AJ, too, will fight in a separate Riyadh Season event, even after his fight with Paul, next week. There are therefore no guarantees that fan demand will even be there should either of them stumble through the three fights combined that they have to get through, to finally face-off with one another.
The heavyweight rivals have been circling one another arguably since before they even turned professional, as Fury had captivated the attention of the sport’s media through his extraordinary height and unorthodox style, and Joshua had the benefit of a silver medal at the World Amateur Championships in 2011, one year before he won gold at the Olympic Games in 2012.
It is, perhaps, better late than never.
