RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande already has host of Premier League giants chasing his services including Arsenal and Manchester United but the teenager has revealed he is a Liverpool fan
RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande has admitted he ‘dreams’ of playing for Liverpool despite strong interest in his services from Manchester United and Arsenal.
The 19-year-old attacker has caught the eye of the Premier League’s elite over the past few months after moving to Germany from Leganes. He has seven goals to his name from just 16 appearances in all competitions for Leipzig, form has seen a number of top clubs cast their eye on him, including both Arsenal and United.
But they and others keeping close tabs on Diomande could be left disappointed after the youngster appeared to admit that he wants to play for Liverpool at some point in his career. Speaking in a TikTok live stream, Diomande said: “Yes I do, I want to play at Anfield and I want to play for Liverpool. I’m a big fan of Liverpool.
“I’m a big fan of Liverpool because my father’s dream is to see me play at Anfield. So that’s my dream. You know, to fulfil my father’s dream is a dream for me too.”

Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are among the other clubs who are said to be mulling over a future move for Diomande. Leipzig, for their part, have made their intentions to keep him clear. As per The Athletic, they see the teenager as essential to their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League and will not sell unless they receive an offer in the region of €100million (£87m).
“It is our aim to keep players with us for longer than just one year, because otherwise you don’t achieve any continuity,” Leipzig chief Marcel Schafer, recently told Kicker.

Asked who sits in the driving seat when it comes to Diomande’s future, he replied: “There isn’t even anyone sitting in the passenger seat. Everyone is sitting in the back seat.”
Diomande, a nine-time Ivory Coast international, remains under contract with Leipzig until 2030. It appears unlikely that Liverpool would pursue his signature any time soon given their summer outlay.
Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz were all signed just months ago for huge fees, while Jeremie Frimpong is also capable of playing further forwards. Much may depend on Mohamed Salah’s future following his sensational outburst earlier this season.
