Arsenal are looking to stamp their authority on the Premier League title race as they prepare to face Chelsea this weekend, in what’s shaping up to be a titanic battle between first and second
What a week it has been for Arsenal. After an emphatic 4-1 win over Tottenham in the North London Derby, the Gunners followed it up with a 3-1 triumph over Bayern Munich, reinforcing their status as favourites in both the Premier League and Champions League.
It was the ideal response to a frustrating 2-2 draw with Sunderland before the international break – a result that not only ended Arsenal’s eight-match winning streak but also cast doubt over their pursuit of Chelsea’s all-time Premier League record of just 15 goals conceded in a season.
And speaking of Chelsea, Mikel Arteta’s side face them next, travelling to Stamford Bridge on Sunday for a clash that could define the title race. The Blues are riding a wave of confidence after a 3-0 demolition of Barcelona in midweek, but Arsenal present arguably their toughest test of the season yet. With that in mind, Mirror Football brings you the latest Arsenal-related headlines.
Saka decision reached
Bukayo Saka has just over 18 months remaining on his Arsenal contract – but it appears only a matter of time before an extension is agreed. The 24-year-old has been the club’s attacking talisman for years, having risen through the academy ranks since 2019.

It is this deep-rooted connection to Arsenal that has the club relaxed about his contract situation. According to The Athletic, there is no sign that Saka is considering a move away, despite his deal edging closer to its expiration.
Negotiations over a new contract are ongoing, with all indications pointing to an agreement that will secure the England international’s long-term future at the Emirates Stadium.
Saka currently earns £195,000 per week, yet six of his Arsenal teammates pocket higher wages – including players whose influence on the team doesn’t match Saka’s, such as Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus. Reports suggest Saka could be handed a deal worth £300,000 per week, making him the highest-paid player at the club.
Mega deal announced
Arsenal have announced a major new partnership with streaming giant Paramount+. The deal will see players, legends, and fans celebrate Paramount+ series such as Landman and Guy Ritchie’s MobLand, with bespoke campaigns and in-stadium branding at both men’s and women’s games.
A special co-branded launch piece, For the Love of the Team, features Thierry Henry as narrator, linking the club’s history with the new entertainment tie-in.
Social media activations will showcase first-team stars alongside fans and influencers, with the first campaign launching this November around the return of Landman, starring Eberechi Eze, William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli.
Paramount+ branding will also appear across stadium screens, matchday programmes and other fan experiences. Juliet Slot, Chief Commercial Officer at Arsenal said: “We’re delighted to welcome Paramount+ into our Arsenal family.
“They’re a world-class, global entertainment brand, and we’re so excited to work together and create new ways for our supporters to feel even closer to the club. Their expertise, creativity and investment strengthen our ability to deliver outstanding experiences for our supporters and supports our ambition to compete for major trophies.”
