Aston Villa Player Wages [2026]
Despite the Premier League’s traditional ‘Big Six’ spending vast amounts of money to maintain their dominance in England’s top flight, Aston Villa have been able to disrupt the established order in recent seasons. Unai Emery’s side have been a tough side to beat, pushing for Champions League qualification in each of the last three years.
It’s a testament not only to their manager’s expertise, but also to the players that they have on their books. The likes of Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers have once again proven invaluable to their efforts in 2025/26, as they bid to finish in the top four once again.
But Villa aren’t exactly plucky underdogs — after all, they have one of the highest wage bills in football presently. And Capology have broken down exactly how much each player at Villa Park is earning right now.
Aston Villa Goalkeeper Salaries
As a World Cup winner, Emiliano Martinez might well feel that he deserves to be paid like one of the best goalkeepers in the world. And while he earns an impressive £150,000 every week, the Argentine could likely have pocketed even more had a potential move to Manchester United gone through.
However, the Red Devils chose to look elsewhere, meaning that Martinez ultimately ended up staying put. The 33-year-old is still the second-highest earner at the club, tied with several other players, and also earns far more than backup goalkeeper Marco Bizot. The Dutchman, signed from Stade Brestois in the summer of 2025, takes home £45,000 a week by comparison.

Aston Villa Defender Salaries
When it comes to defenders, no member of the backline earns more than Lucas Digne. The left-back has been a consistent presence in the squad since signing from Everton in 2022, with him paid like a premium squad player on £135,000 per week.
Behind the French international come a whole host of players who also make six-figures every week. Victor Lindelof, signed from Manchester United in the summer of 2025, earns slightly more than Tyrone Mings. Although the Englishman has been a great servant to the club, he isn’t named in the starting XI as much as he once was. And at 32-years-old, it remains to be seen if his contract will be extended beyond 2027.
Three different defenders have all put pen to paper on £100,000-per-week contracts which last until 2028 at least. Matty Cash was the most recent of the trio to agree an extension, with Ian Maatsen and Pau Torres, two other important members of Emery’s squad, also seemingly prepared to stick around for the long-term.
One man who could well command a pay-rise, though, is Ezri Konsa. Although he’s under contract until 2028, previous reports had linked him with a move to Liverpool. So if Villa want to issue a statement that the 28-year-old is here to stay, talks over a new deal could very well begin shortly.

Aston Villa Midfielder Salaries
The engine room is where a large chunk of the wage bill gets spent on a weekly basis. But when the outlay allows you to field a midfield as talented as Villa’s, it certainly appears to be worth it.
Youri Tielemans and Boubacar Kamara, who more often than not form the double pivot that Emery loves to play, are both paid equally handsomely for their efforts. Their salaries of £150,000 top all but one player in the squad, although the club might well seek to extend the Belgian’s deal, considering that it expires in just under 18 months time.
Every Premier League Club Ranked by Their Wage Bill (2026)
Every 2025/26 Premier League team’s annual wage bill has been listed, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal.
Just behind Tielemans is his compatriot, Amadou Onana, who is a valuable asset to have should Emery wish to rest one of his preferred midfield options. Injuries have kept him out at points in 2025/26, but the Belgian, when fit, is a fantastic technician in the heart of the pitch.
There’s then another £10,000 gap between the 24-year-old and club captain John McGinn. Despite now being in his 30s, the Scottish international is a valuable presence in and around the team, with the club hierarchy deciding to extend his stay at Villa Park until 2028 at least, by which time he’ll be 33. He earns over double what Ross Barkley makes in claret and blue.

Aston Villa Forward Wages
Few would dispute the idea that Morgan Rogers is Aston Villa’s most important player. Since arriving at the club from Middlesbrough in 2024, the Manchester City academy graduate has been nothing short of sensational, scoring spectacular goals and propelling his team forward.
A new £150,000-per-week contract in November 2025 was a suitable reward for his efforts, but the England international isn’t the highest-paid player at the club right now. That honour goes to Jadon Sancho, with Villa shelling out a sizable £200,000 every week to the Manchester United loanee.
While Ollie Watkins might have been content on £130,000 per week, the arrival of Tammy Abraham could well make him think about asking for a raise. The latter has re-joined the club from Besiktas, with Birmingham Live reporting that he stands to make £4m-per-season after tax. That would equate to roughly £140,000 per week gross, which is roughly the same as what Amadou Onana is making.
Leon Bailey, recently recalled from his loan at Serie A side Roma, is the final attacker on the list to make six figures a week, with both Emiliano Buendia and Evann Guessand collecting £75,000 every seven days. The out-of-favour Harvey Elliott is just behind them, although there’s almost no chance that Villa will be looking to extend his stay beyond the one-year loan agreed with Liverpool.
