Aston Villa manager Unai Emery looks on before the match

They might have lost to Everton on Sunday, but this season is still shaping up to be a memorable one for Aston Villa.

For example, on the domestic front, Unai Emery’s side are still third in the Premier League and into the Fourth Round of the FA Cup.

Then, when it comes to their continental adventure, the Villans are flying high in third place in the Europa League.

In short, there is a strong chance that Aston Villa could end their trophy drought this season, and it looks like the club are planning to go big in the transfer window by bringing in someone who’d help Emiliano Buendía reach another level.

Aston Villa target dream Buendía teammate

It’s already been a busy window of transfer activity for Villa this month.

On the one hand, they have seen Donyell Malen make his way to Italian giants AS Roma on an initial loan, and they’ve also seen Tottenham Hotspur snatch Conor Gallagher from their grasp.

However, the West Midlanders are far from done, and it now looks like they are going to bring in an attacker who could help Buendía reach another level entirely.

At least that is according to a recent report from Turkey, which claims Villa are still very interested in Tammy Abraham.

In fact, the report has revealed that the Villans have already seen an offer of around €18m – £16m – rejected by Besiktas.

The report states that while the Turkish side are happy to part ways with the Englishman, they would prefer that Villa include Evann Guessand in any deal, which is something Emery and Co are against.

Fortunately, the report has also revealed that Besiktas would be willing to accept an offer north of €20m – £17m – if the Ivorian is not included.

However, with Everton and Nottingham Forest now said to be interested in the striker, the Claret and Blue had better get a move on to get their man, especially as he’d be a dream signing for someone like Buendía.

Why Buendía would love playing with Abraham

So while there are surely numerous reasons why Buendía would love playing with someone like Abraham, the most significant and hard to ignore is his output.

Tammy Abraham

One of the Argentine’s primary jobs in the Villa team is to help create chances for his teammates or finish those chances created for him.

Therefore, it almost goes without saying that he would surely love playing alongside a striker in red-hot form, someone like the Besiktas ace.

For example, in 25 appearances, totalling 1792 minutes, he has scored 13 goals and provided three assists.

That means that the “incredible” number nine, as dubbed by John Terry, is averaging a goal involvement every 1.56 games, or every 112 minutes.

With numbers like these, it’s not hard to see why journalist Bolarinwa Olajide described him as being a “beast” in front of goal.

Moreover, just imagine what he would be able to do with teammates like Morgan Rogers and Buendía; his goal tally would soar, and he’d likely chip in with a few assists as well.

Lastly, another reason why the former Chelsea man would be such a great teammate is that he’s already played in the Premier League and for Villa.

In other words, he knows English football and what it takes to thrive in it.

Therefore, it shouldn’t take him very long to get into the swing of things and help his teammates in a big way.

Ultimately, while Villa should do all they can to sign Abraham this month, not only could he fire them to glory, but he could also help get even more out of his teammates, like Buendía.
