BlueCo signing who’s “like Estevao” could end Gittens’ Chelsea career
Chelsea have built a squad full of incredible players over the last few years.
The likes of Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo and Reece James could likely get into any team in the Champions League, let alone the Premier League.
However, while the Blues have got a lot right in the transfer market, they’ve also got a lot wrong, and from this summer, it looks like Jamie Gittens could fall into the latter category.
Fortunately, BlueCo have already signed a sensational talent who could come into the side and end the Englishman’s Chelsea career.
Gittens this season and last season
Now, while he is struggling this season, Chelsea didn’t sign Gittens off of nothing.
Instead, while he did eventually fall out of favour with the German side, the dynamic winger had what could broadly be described as an impressive campaign with Borussia Dortmund last year.
For example, the youngster ended the season with a strong tally of 17 goal involvements in 49 games and was even described as “England’s best left winger” by Sky Sports’ Dougie Critchley at one point.
Moreover, with goals against Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, he looked like the sort of attacker who thrives on the biggest of stages.
Unfortunately, so far this season, the Stamford Bridge faithful have seen very little of the player they thought they were signing.

For example, across 19 appearances totalling 855 minutes, the summer signing has scored one goal and provided five assists, which comes to a goal involvement every 3.16 games, or every 142.5 minutes.
Moreover, he’s failed to turn up in any of the club’s big games and generally looks low on confidence.
There is undoubtedly a way back for Gittens, a way for him to become the player the club hoped he’d be, but he’d better find it quickly, as someone who could send him packing is joining Chelsea in the summer.
The BlueCo star who could end Gittens’ Chelsea career
BlueCo have made a habit of signing young talents and letting them develop elsewhere with the intention of eventually bringing them into the first team.
Estêvão is perhaps the best example of this practice, but the club has also done this with the likes of Kendy Paez and Dastan Sätpaev.
This has also been the approach with Geovany Quenda, who was signed for around £44m in March and will leave Sporting CP to join up with the Blues at the end of this season.
This could well be bad news for Gittens, as while the Portuguese gem has spent much of this season on the right-hand side, he is also totally comfortable out on the left.
Moreover, considering that he’s still just 18 years old, his form this year has been nothing short of exceptional.
For example, in 22 first-team appearances, totalling 1273 minutes, he has scored five goals and provided eight assists.
In other words, he is currently averaging a goal involvement every 1.69 games, or more crucially, every 97.92 minutes.

Moreover, he has scored twice and provided two assists in just five Champions League appearances, which backs up one content creator’s claim that he’s showing “mentality just like Estêvão.”
Ultimately, it’s still so early on in his career, but Quenda looks like a genuine superstar in the making, and therefore, Gittens’ place in the Chelsea squad could be in real danger next season.
