Everton are said to be preparing a January offer for Bologna centre-forward Santiago Castro, according to reports in England.
The 21-year-old had already been linked with a possible Premier League move during the summer, but the Rossoblu had no intention of even considering an exit.
Their position on the matter has not really changed and a January sale seems extremely unlikely, unless Everton make an offer that they couldn’t refuse.
Nonetheless, TEAMtalk insist that the Toffees are ready to break the bank for Argentine striker, needing well over €35m to even get Bologna to the table.
His current contract at the Stadio Dall’Ara runs to June 2028 and there are negotiations to extend with a significant pay rise, which should help stave off interest. Castro was purchased from Velez Sarsfield for €13.2m in January 2024 and has been a key figure in their success over the last couple of seasons, which saw them qualify for the Champions League and win the Coppa Italia.
He has scored four goals with one assist in nine Serie A appearances for Bologna so far this season.

Castro still on Everton radar
