Bournemouth striker Evanilson is set for a spell on the sidelines after having surgery on his broken foot.
The Brazil forward was substituted in the closing stages of Saturday’s 1-0 win against Everton.
Further assessment confirmed he had fractured a metatarsal and it required an operation.
The Cherries say the surgery was successful but have not put a timescale on the 25-year-old’s recovery.
“The club’s medical staff will now provide Evanilson with their full support through the rehabilitation process, ensuring he has the best possible recovery,” read a statement.
Evanilson has scored five goals in 19 appearances since joining Bournemouth for a club record £40.2m deal from Porto in August.
Saturday’s win against the Toffees saw Bournemouth set a new club record of eight Premier League games unbeaten.
Andoni Iraola’s side are seventh in the table, three points outside the Champions League places.
