Bournemouth keen for Semenyo to stay until summer
The future of Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo is a hot topic as the January transfer window approaches, especially since the £65million release clause in his contract, expected to drop to £50million in the summer, came to light last month.
Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are all believed to be putting in efforts to secure his services, but nothing is in an advanced stage at this point and the race is wide open.
Quite apart from that, according to BBC, Bournemouth are desperate to keep hold of Semenyo for the remainder of the season.
The Cherries are aware, of course, that a prospective suitor triggering the release clause would take the matter out of their hands and that keeping him until the summer would reduce the price. And yet, they would be prepared to sell even lower come summer, and even agree a pre-contract to let him leave after the World Cup, just to keep him in their ranks for the rest of 2025/26.
