Jamie Foxx has revealed he was terrified when he made a joke about Mike Tyson – with the boxing icon in attendance.
The incident took place back in 1988, back when the actor was working in stand-up comedy.
Speaking to LadBible, Foxx recalled: “I’ve known Mike for years, bro. I was doing stand-up comedy in 1988, and I’m killing in the hood.”
He then revealed that he was left scared of potentially offending the boxing legend due to a joke he had prepared.

“So, I’m in the club, I get to my Mike Tyson joke, nobody laughs, because Mike is in the audience,” he continued.
“A dude [with Mike] yelled out, ‘Yo, Mike is in here’, and I was like, ‘Oh god’.
“There was a Black girl in the front, she was like, ‘What are you gonna do, Jamie? You scared of Mike?’.
“I said, ‘Chill!’, because Mike was just knocking people out for the sake of it.”

Continuing to recall the experience, Foxx says that Tyson actually loved the joke and ended up inviting him for a drive.
He added: “So, the same dude yelled out, ‘Mike said to do the joke, but it better be funny’. So, the whole club goes from looking at Mike Tyson to looking at me.
“I get a standing ovation, I come off stage, Mike rushes over.
“‘There he is, come here. You’re so crazy, I like how you talk up there, you’re gonna be great.

“‘You made me laugh, you didn’t make me angry because you know what I do when I get angry, so come with me.’.
“So, I’m like, ‘Where am I going?’, and I end up riding around with Mike Tyson [in a] Lambo truck, and I was basically like his jester.
“He was like, ‘Make me laugh’, and I was like ‘Knock, knock’. So, yeah, I’ve known him for a long time.
“The hardest thing is trying to do a story as a movie, and not do, this happened, then that happened, then that happened…”.

Tyson returned to boxing back in November as he faced Jake Paul after months of delays.
However, the 58-year-old was unable to win on his return – with Paul comfortable as he secured victory.
Tyson later said he ‘blacked out’ during the fight.
He said: “I don’t remember the fight that much. I kind of blanked out. I haven’t watched the fight back.

“You know what I remember? Coming back from the first round and Jake was doing some sort of bow.
