Brentford are closely monitoring Lazio winger Matteo Cancellieri, according to reports in Italy, as the Premier League side step up their interest in the Biancocelesti’s outgoings.
Today’s Corriere dello Sport claims that Brentford scouts were present both at the Olimpico for Lazio’s match against Fiorentina and at the Bentegodi for their recent win over Verona, with Cancellieri under particular observation.
The report suggests the English club could be ready to test Lazio’s resolve with an offer worth around €20m for the attacking wide player.
Cancellieri is not the only forward whose future is under review. Gustav Isaksen is also not considered untouchable, with Lazio valuing the Dane at a similar €20m.
However, his performances so far this season have reportedly failed to convince, making a potential exit a realistic scenario should suitable offers arrive. Further departures are also being considered in midfield.
Lazio are open to selling Reda Belahyane, with a price tag of around €10m, while Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has attracted interest from Nottingham Forest, who are tracking the Nigerian-born midfielder from the Premier League.
Meanwhile, an unexpected development has emerged in defence. Al Sadd, coached by Roberto Mancini, have made a concrete move for Alessio Romagnoli.
The Doha-based club are now considering an immediate transfer rather than a summer move, with a proposal worth over €3m on the table.
