England star Chloe Kelly is one of the names in the running for BBC Sports Personality of the Year and the Arsenal ace has offered some intriguing glimpses into her personal life

The nominees are in for the 2025 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award and England’s Chloe Kelly is one of the six names shortlisted for this year’s prize. The Arsenal star converted the winning penalty against Spain in the Euro 2025 final, repeating her heroics from four years prior when she also fired the Lionesses to victory.

Some would consider a SPOTY win this month overdue as a result. However, she has some stiff competition for the award after Rory McIlroy’s Masters win, while fellow nominee Lando Norris recently secured McLaren’s first Formula 1 world championship since 2008.

Other contenders include Kelly’s England team-mate Hannah Hampton, darts world champion Luke Littler and England rugby star Ellie Kildunne, who helped fire the Red Roses to World Cup glory this year. Kelly doesn’t often open up about her private life, though fans have received some inside looks at the Lioness talisman over the years.

Kelly’s modern home design

Kelly has given fans a peek behind the curtain into her home life from time to time. And many will love the modern aesthetic of the house she shares with husband Scott Moore, as well as their three dogs, Otis, Rolo, and Brody.

The space comes with sleek, grey laminate flooring and neutral-coloured walls, which is complemented by bold black and grey furniture. Kelly has in the past uploaded a picture of her recovering from a match while sat on their crushed velvet sofa, which pairs effortlessly with the rest of her furnishings.

In a separate post, Chloe posted a pic alongside her beau while getting ready for an evening out. The shot showed glossy tiled floors and and a large black grate mirror that gives some character to the otherwise understated design.

It’s evident from the posts that Kelly and Moore favour a more simplistic visual when it comes to their interior design. And the pair even have the outfits to match the look of their beautiful abode.

Husband’s day job

Chloe and husband Scott first met during her time at Everton, where he was working as a groundsman. And the pair hit it off almost instantly, which includes a memorable first date.

Scott has often been spotted supporting his wife from the touchline and was on hand in Basel for her shining moment this summer. Attention was also drawn to Kelly’s shinpads during the competition, featuring an image from her wedding to provide some added inspiration.

“We got a little monkey and every time I see it, it reminds me of when we went to IKEA,” she once said while looking back on the earliest stages of their relationship. Some years later, Kelly agreed to marry Moore when he proposed under the Northern Lights during a trip to Lapland in Finland.

“Easiest yes ever,” she wrote on an Instagram post capturing the magical moment. They were wed one year later in a glamorous ceremony at Merrydale Manor in Cheshire.

Scott kept his job as a groundsman at Everton until 2021 when he accepted a job as assistant greenkeeper at Blundells Hill Golf Club in Rainhill. However, it’s understood his work there ended in December 2024.

Prince William comment

Lionesses champion Prince William was also on hand for England’s moment of triumph in Switzerland earlier this year. And there were few happier for Kelly to once again steal the headlines than the heir to the throne.

William, who is an FA patron, was on the pitch in Basel to congratulate Sarina Wiegman‘s squad before they received their winners’ medals. And fans were particularly interested in her intimate chat with the Royal after she converted England’s winning penalty to win a second successive Euros crown.

Her spot-kick against Spain was the talk of the nation as the Lionesses kept their grip on the title. And one lip-reader interpreted Williams’ message to Kelly as they shared a special moment at the podium.

“That kick was no nonsense,” the Prince is understood to have said as he embraced Kelly in front of thousands of fans, as well as the millions watching from home. “Well done you, honestly, fantastic.”
