Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso is preparing a decisive move in a bid to steer the Viola away from relegation danger, with Fabio Paratici set to take control of the club’s sporting project.

According to reports from CalcioMercato, via SportMediaset, Paratici is expected in Italy imminently, with negotiations now at the final stage and an agreement potentially reached within the next 24 hours.

Fiorentina have made a powerful statement of intent, offering the former Juventus director a long-term contract, believed to be for five years, on significant terms.

Fiorentina prepare to grant Paratici free reign

More important than the financial package is the level of authority on the table. Paratici is set to be granted full autonomy over the sporting area, with control extending from the appointment of coaching staff and technical personnel to complete oversight of transfer strategy.

It is a clear signal that Commisso wants a radical reset, not a temporary fix.

With the season heading toward a critical phase, the club believe an experienced operator is required to stabilise the project immediately while laying the foundations for a broader rebuild.

Paratici’s availability comes despite his recent appointment at Tottenham Hotspur, where he was named sporting director in mid-October.

However, the landscape in London has shifted dramatically following the resignation of chairman Daniel Levy, the figure who had personally entrusted Paratici with the role.
