Senegal are hoping to avoid another last-16 exit.

Senegal will look to take another step towards winning the Africa Cup of Nations for a second time with victory over Sudan in the last 16.

The Lions of Teranga, who won the tournament for the first time in 2021, are among the favourites for the title.

Senegal were eliminated in the last 16 in 2023, losing to Ivory Coast on penalties, but they will be expected to progress after easing through the group stage to earn a tie with a Sudan team that is seeking to reach the quarter-finals for the first time since 2012.
